Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She started in the business at the age of 4 by doing commercial work and voice-overs. Her first film was Private Parts (1997). Her next film was The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" who was a child that was found in the park, and cared for by Josie and Gary. Sarah would later work with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) multiple times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was a part on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), starring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould’s Secret ((2000) and Falcone ((2000)). Sarah trained in voice tapping, jazz, and hip-hop in addition to film and television. Sarah, a New Yorker, also appeared as an invited performer for her Theatre and tap classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. After being taught at home by her mother, she attended public school through second grade. She was admitted to PPAS in 6th grade. This school is where she stayed until her graduation in 2008. When Sarah turned 18 then she moved to Los Angeles, CA and within two weeks was able to get a pilot name "My American Family". Once she was accepted as a pilot, the pilot's name changed into Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently the "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) won numerous awards, but the most notable was the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
