Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Angie Chalke, and Doug Chalke are her parents. She is the middle child, having one older sister Natasha Chalke, and one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah's acting debut came in City Boy (1992), an adaptation of a film for television. After her first movie she auditioned for the role as Becky on Roseanne (1988) in 1993. The show was searching for someone to replace Alicia Goranson, who left the show to pursue the college of her choice. Sarah graduated from high school in 1995 while shooting the 1994-1995 season of Roseanne (1988). Sarah also appeared with Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). Then, in 1996 she appeared in two movies, including Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) where she played a cheerleader "Krista Wilson". Sarah was invited to appear in a television series called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) in the year following Roseanne (1988). Based on the show Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (2000), Sarah also participated in the show. The role was taken over by Becky on Roseanne (1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. It was stated that she would like to take a break from acting and enroll in college. [2001] (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's elder sister on Roseanne (1988) but she's actually younger. Attended the 1999 CCMA award ceremony and presented an award for the most outstanding single of the year. [September 1999] Appeared in local Vancouver performances of the theater, aged 8 years old. Fluent in French, German and Spanish. She is a volunteer in a hospice where sick children receive treatment and also works for the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke likes to cook with her pals (especially Thai or sushi) she also plays the guitar and climb, ski (she's an instructor) and kayaking. Her father is an attorney and both parents operate an agency for adoption of children. Her parents accompanied her to China two years ago to assist in coordinating the adoptions of a lot of orphans.
