"Rose") McGowan was born on September 5 7th, 1973. She is an American
actress. After her film debut in a brief role in the comedy Encino Man (1992),
McGowan was recognized for her performance in the dark comedy The Doom
Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for
Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough came in the film horror Scream (1996)
and then featured in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh
(1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan's role as Paige Matthews on the WB
supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was her most well-known character.
Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) that where
she was awarded the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the Scream Award
to Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she was a part in Chosen the action-thriller
show. The actress released Planet 9, her first studio album in the year 2018,
and a repackaging followed in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as one of the
Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017. She made a
statement against sexual assault and harassment and , in particular, the Harvey
Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In 2018, she released Brave which is a memoir as
well as appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
